Ptarmigan Course Handicap 02.0.26.69

The Ptarmigan Men's Golf Association (PMGA) has implemented an innovative system aimed at fostering fair competition among its members at the Ptarmigan Country Club. Central to this initiative is the establishment of the Ptarmigan Course Handicap (PCH), which is calculated for all players based on one of the following criteria:

• GHIN Index - This is derived from all scores posted to GHIN, specifically the average of the lowest eight scores out of the last twenty recorded.
• Blue Tee Index (BTI) - This index is generated from all scores at Ptarmigan played from the Blue Tees, again taking the average of the lowest eight out of the last twenty scores.
• Competition Tournament Index (CTI) - This is based on scores from PMGA tournaments or other organized competitions, calculated as the average of the lowest eight scores from the last twenty.
• Low Handicap Index (LHI) - This index, tracked by GHIN, reflects the lowest handicap index a player has achieved over the preceding twelve months.

The PCH for a player will be determined by selecting the lowest value from their GHIN, BTI, or CTI calculations. For those who have not recorded at least twelve scores at Ptarmigan, their PCH will default to their LHI.

Additionally, the introduction of the PCH App allows PMGA members to access their current playing index conveniently. The app presents a detailed log including dates and scores used in computing each player's index and enables members to view the PCH values of fellow players.
